Description
Through the use of hand cut vinyl, applied to a fibreglass shell, this piece aims to capture a snapshot of the classic Porsche 917 as it speeds past on the racetrack. The artwork’s stylized depiction of the high and low lights that stream over the bodywork, seamlessly blend in with the surrounding light reflections; thus fooling the eye in to what is and isn’t natural. The result turns a real object, into that of a surreal object. These wall sculptures are made-to-order, meaning you can choose your favourite 917 livery on which to base it upon.
The original fibreglass shell is created by world renowned Porsche replica builders Kraftwerkz Cars of Australia. Cut out a same size section from the real thing, and this ‘slice’ of 917 would fit perfectly. The final stage is to professionally clear-coat the artwork to leave a deep and protective sheen.
